Natural History Exhibition Finalist ~ Focus on Nature IX – NY State Museum – 20th April – 10th September 2006
It has been another successful year for me becoming a Natural History Exhibition Finalist in the prestigious Focus on Nature IX in the United States. Hosted by the New York State Museum, the FON Natural History exhibition draws global submissions of the highest standard in Natural History Illustration and is a highly competitive event.
Finalists are selected for this international exhibition on the basis of high technical quality, scientific accuracy, aesthetic achievement, and educational value. The selection will be made by a committee of scientists, artists and museum curators and will be announced at the exhibit reception on April 20, 2006. The purchased artwork becomes part of the permanent collection owned by the people of New York state in the NY State Museum.
The exhibition runs for some months and is a wonderful event. I am even more thrilled to have had my watercolour painting ‘Sacred Kingfisher’ selected for the exhibition promotion and colour catalogues. It is a great honour and I couldn’t be happier to hear the news. I am looking forward to another wonderful event and congratulate all successful finalists in this event.
