This painting explores one of our all time favourite plants and subjects for painting, the Magnolia. Measuring 50x35cms / 20x14inches in size, this piece began as a demonstration and was developed without a set plan to completion. The colours are delicate, romantic and feminine, the composition elegant and serene while the element of yellow lichen was introduced to the palette to add a little interest and texture to this piece too. I am very pleased with the results.
