Featuring two classic Australian wildlife subjects, ‘Kookaburra and Eucalyptus’ is a calming, joyful bird painting in watercolour, set to tug on the sentimental heartstrings of all Aussies, delighting them with its clean, fresh and lively presence. In a classic natural science illustration style, this layout and subject is timeless. The kookaburra illustration inspiration came to me with thanks from Peter Caddy, and the eucalyptus was a wonderful sight I captured some years ago on my travels. I has been far too long, getting to paint this piece, but now the time has arrived and I am extremely pleased to see this beautiful bird painting come to life so wonderfully.
