Eastern Spinebill and Honeysuckle Painting – 15x15cms – Watercolour – SOLD
‘Eastern Spinebill and Honeysuckle’ is the most recent addition to my 25x25cm series. Rendered in watercolour, this bird study captures a sight that delighted me during my New Zealand travels. We have the honeysuckle flowering here in Australia of course, in fact theres some on the fence right across the road from my home here… but it just isnt as abundant as this one was on that luscious wet day on the road exploring. Its a capture of nature, of beauty and of so many wonderful memories, tangled up in this scene all at once. Every time I see the honeysuckle floweing here at home I am filled with desire to include it in my work and I finally managed to make that happen. What wonderful subjects to explore, a delicious tangle of Mother Natures creation.
