My 15×15 cm painting series has a new addition with the Splendid Fairywren, nestled in amongst a cluster of beautiful sun orchids, making a striking story in its smaller size. Exquisite moments in time captured, featuring wonderful, endless combinations of sentimental bird and botanical subjects in watercolour… thats the focus of this ongoing painting series, and its a favourite for me, and for my clients.
Paintings in this series are wonderful on their own, but they are also perfect to collect. My clients love picking and choosing their favourite pieces to create their own unique collection, adding new ones to the mix in time. Occasionally they are available and these can be bought as a love at first sight situation, but with these ones always selling fast or in advance, many are commissioned ahead of time.
Watching them come to life across my social media platforms is always a fun part of these purchases too! From concept to emergence, I love to take my clients on the creative journey with me. This is the case for my Wren painting. A commission, my client enjoyed selecting a personal mix of subjects they love here, before watching her ideas come to life throughout the process from the start to completion. This is the 6th in her collection, making a truly gorgeous set of personal painting studies for her home, and I know they are being so well loved.
Here we see the Splendid Fairywren painting emerge in stages, from the initial bird study to receiving is fantastic orchid surrounds. Both the bird and the sun orchids are challenging subjects to paint, but I so enjoyed falling into its colours, textures, and intricacy. Now it is complete, its time to pack this little treasure up and send it off to join those that came before it, a beautiful collection indeed.
