International Artist Magazine Feature Article

international artist magazine feature article

Its always a thrill to see your work adorning the pages of a glossy! This feature takes a look at my work and processes, spreading over 10 beautiful pages of International Artist Magazine and I think it looks really wonderful. I feel it has done justice in representing the work, the colours and it is a eye catching, dynamic layout with a wonderful flow, that is great to read through. Im really pleased to share the article and news with you here. The first page features my ‘St Vincents Amazons and Cannonball Tree’ major work, (which now belongs to a private collection) telling the story of these unbelievably endangered birds in a stunning cannonball tree, so full of life, colour and texture. This has, and always will be a personal favourite of mine.

The second painting featured is my ‘Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo and Silky Oak’ in watercolour. This painting belongs to the same ‘White Room’ series of major works as the ‘St Vincents Amazons and Cannonball Tree’ measuring 66x90cms in size. This collection captures moments in time in exquisite detail of life amongst the treetops, with a big focus on documenting our most endangered species, and/or, technical challenge in the complexity. Its fair to say, they are each, a love affair marathon in technique and physical, mental and emotional endurance. This painting is also in a private collection.

Following these two featured paintings, the article steps into the work in progress stage of the feature, walking you through the emergence of another major work in watercolour – ‘Gang Gang Cockatoos in Brachychiton’ – otherwise known as The Canoodlers (available) In an intimate pose, these two lovebirds nestle into the intricate red surroundings of the brachychiton in flower with a true gentleness and tenderness in its complexity and story. Slowly the painting takes shape… very slowly! Trusses of abundant flowers tumble through the scene to capture, yet another beautiful moment in time in this piece. Lets take a look at the article

And so you have it, a wonderful feature in a fabulous editorial magazine, and I am really thrilled to be featured again. I hope you enjoy it with me! Thanks for following
