Brisbane ‘Duck Painting Workshop’ Recap

Returning home from the past 2 weeks of wonderful painting workshops, ive put together some little clips of each event to share the experience with you a little. Hosted by BienartΓ©, we enjoyed their wonderful studio space, located right on the edge of Brisbane city. Its always a pleasure to return there, to see old and new faces amongst my students, to work with you all and to see you settle and grow with every event like you do.

Our first challenge was capturing a vibrant duck portrait, developing or painting skills further, particularly for rich colour use and improved wash application. My students, some having never painted before, rose to the challenge beautifully, making some wonderful works and memories along the way.

This clip shares the evolution of the event and work, learning and improving so much as we dipped into this beautiful, fun painting subject. Our image came with thanks to Mel Diotte, for which we are very grateful.

Thank you to all my fab students for being there with me! With 4 new Brisbane/Sunshine Coast workshops just confirmed with BienartΓ© for 2026, I hope to see you back there again soon. The listings are yet to be refined, but the first 3 have just gone up now, and are live for bookings… Ill share more on those soon, but I wanted you to hear those opportunities here first
