European Robin and Roses Painting – miniature In Watercolour commission – sold
A series of little, highly sentimental commissions have been created for my lovely client, and these have been such a joy to work on with her. Each draws from her favourite moments, experiences, sentimental memories and subjects throughout her life. Each is so unique, captured in this wonderful watercolour series. Measuring 11x18cms, the European Robin and Roses is probably my favourite painting in this series. Its so delicate, soft and comforting, and it was so wonderful capturing the European Robin for the first time too! Im often so engrossed in our great Australian subjects, this was a brilliant side step into a new subject for me. What an absolute sweetie too. The roses i stumbled across on a cold day stranded in Tasmania… the delicious upside to adventures going astray! So i suppose this one has a little of both my own, and my clients slice of life woven into it, which seems perfect to me.
