Sacred Kingfisher & Waterlilies

Sacred Kingfisher & Waterlilies – SOLD

Between all things, Ive continued working away on my popular 15x15cm series of watercolour studies this year, adding this sweet new piece to the collection. A study of the Sacred Kingfisher resting amongst a beautiful background and surrounding of pink waterlilies in this painting, it is the accompanying pair to my last Azure Kingfisher amongst the blue waterlilies.

Theres such a serenity in the pairing of these subjects and paintings, and despite their vibrant colours, they are so soothing to look at. This series is all about my favourite subjects, sentimentality and the exploration of the endless beauty and romance of the watercolour medium. Sacred Kingfisher & Waterlilies sold before it has even made it to my social media platforms, and my client is so pleased to call it her own. Its a wonderful feeling to tell a story and pass it on to others who will cherish the work and my loves so well.

I really loved the waterlily leaves in this piece especially, their delicate pink under sides curling up into the view so beautifully really drew me in. The way their colours work with the licks of blue reflected from skies above just seem so graceful too, complimenting the contented gaze of my kingfisher so nicely all the while. Each painting is such a unique story, a creative journey into the endless beauty of our natural world and I absolutely love getting myself lost in this collection.

What will be next I wonder! This series is beautiful, affordable to most and very collectable. I do offer payment plans that work well for many too, so if youd like to talk about the options and start your own collection just let me know. Its fun imagining together!

If youd like to see more on these works, I share longer clips of many projects on my Patreon Channel, as well as complete, in depth online painting tutorials too. If youre interested in the work, learning more for yourself or just in supporting me, Id love to see you there

Thanks to Andrew Haysom for the bird reference image for this piece, I love it so much, and thanks for following 🙏🏻
