Finding a little moment in the haste, I spent a few moments revisiting our recent Small Birds Painting Workshop in Brisbane. Our studio hosts were my long time colleagues and friends at BienartΓ© who are beautiful people with a beautiful studio space we enjoy, in a beautiful place… so we were definitely the winners for this event.

All about the learning, we enjoyed this 3 day face to face painting workshop, learning all about small bird illustration. Each event deep dives into a new subject, this time exploring a wonderful new focal topic in the hummingbird. The original image came to us thanks to Ade Hall, one our supporting photographers here on Patreon and elsewhere, and what a fantastic subject it was too.

We covered so many relevant bird illustration challenges and techniques here, creating a wonderful hummingbird painting each, so full of learning and growth you could see the improvement in every piece over the days spent together. Another fabulous group of totally inspiring students with great results all round.

Thank you for having us, for being there with me and for everything you brought to our workshop. It was again, my honour and pleasure to work with you all and it was so good to see your faces for the first time, and again!

I believe my workshop calendar is now booked out or very close too for 2024. Ill be on the Gold Coast week 1 in October and we have our Tasmanian Painting Retreat in September, so if youd like to come along let us know and we will see if we can make that happen. If not, ill certainly see you in 2025! Ill post those opportunities as they come to light, and you can always find my workshop calendar on the home page of my website too

I hope youll enjoy this workshop recap and insight with me till then πŸ™πŸ»βοΈβ€οΈΒ Β Β Β Β
