Checking in with you from our Gold Coast workshop, we’ve been heads down bums up here learning all about realistic watercolour, botanical and bird painting. Our first challenge was botanical, working in wet on dry wash, layering, great colour play and developing textures to warm up with our mangos before shifting into broad dry brush and small bird illustration.
Each step becoming more refined, we work on the outer practices, and the inner to slow down, steady and find new balances too… I know, we fight it all the way, but it’s definitely happening, and the work has come so far in just a few days.
The first half of the workshop was all about our mango and yellow robin study, and as we move on, I hope you’ll enjoy this little clip and insight of the work so far. It’s just from my phone on the run to our 4th day together but I wanted to share as I can.
Have a great day everyone!
