In honour of World Environment Day, a new wildlife exhibition featuring work from world class investment artists who are represented at The Morpeth Gallery went on show this long weekend. This annual event focused on the theme of birds this year, and I was naturally thrilled to be a part of this weekends wonderfully fun and inspiring activities. Each day we were able to greet our guests, to chat with those who follow our work, to talk all things art and wildlife, and to demonstrate our painting to those visiting the event first hand.
Gallery director Trevor Richards said the annual event had attracted artists from South Australia, Queensland and Victoria. “It’s important that we educate people about wildlife, and we have some of the very best artists in this country exhibiting here… They are all at the top of their game.” We enjoyed large numbers of visitors through our doors with visitors drifting in and out in a constant stream from opening to closing each day. So many arrived and left our exhibition armed with smiles and joyful enthusiasm, making this such an uplifting and successful weekend for all.
I know that I wrapped the weekend up with my walls looking quite sparse, feeling filled with the mixed emotions of parting ways with some of my very favourite pieces of all time, smiling in the knowledge that they are all going to absolutely wonderful homes where they will be truly treasured, uplifted, exhausted, happy… and dreaming of my next paintings already.
Thank you SO much to everyone who came out this weekend, it really was a fantastic thing to be a part of. Keep this event pencilled in on your 2015 calendars. We hope to see you all again soon!
