This trip combines it all – a luxury home nestled just outside Queenstown, one of Australia’s best Botanical Watercolour artists, a field trip to collect and study the incredible fields of Lupins and a day trip to the turquoise waters of the Blue Pools. We can’t wait to show you one of the most stunning regions in NZ and help you to take your art to the next level. In the comfort of our private art studio each day, Heidi will immerse you in her incredible watercolour technique drawing on the Lupins of the region. We have taken care of all your needs for this trip so that you can indulge yourself in a weekend away to revive the senses and put in some serious art time for yourself. Our NZ Lupins Botanical Watercolour Art Workshop is the perfect extended weekend away for any creative watercolour lover. Staying in the heart of the South Island just outside of Queenstown with one of the best botanical watercolour artists in Australia, this is sure to be a weekend not to be missed. No matter what level you feel you are painting at, Heidi can help you to build a strong foundation for your future arts practice. Please note that this is a studio based workshop with no plein-air.
After picking you up in Queenstown, we will travel straight to our accommodation. Once you settle into your accommodations, we will meet in our private art studio and settle in for the weekend. Nights can be spent in front of the roaring fire with a glass of local wine before we hit the nightlife and incredible restaurants of Queenstown.
We have included time in the field with Heidi as we hunt down the Lupins renowned in this area. There is also a day trip to the Blue Pools – if I hadn’t seen this place with my own eyes, I would never have believed that water could be this colour or this clear. We will work with the weather to try and find the best day to pack a picnic and enjoy a break from the studio for this incredible day out.
Drawing on the season of Lupins in this part of NZ, Heidi will be taking you through her techniques specific to botanical watercolour with plenty of one on one time and professional mentoring. With only 10 spots available, you need to book as early as you can – this workshop will sell out well in advance of the dates’
