(THIS IS NOW BOOKED OUT)
My 5 DAY Watercolour and Natural History Masterclass (including botanical illustration and bird painting) for 2016 is now open for bookings. Held in the beautiful town of Grafton NSW, this workshop will run from Thursday April 10 to Sunday April 14 inclusive so be quick to secure your place!
This intensive workshop offers a unique opportunity for participants to view demonstrations, learn from step by step tuition and to be guided through the process of this medium, understanding botanical illustration and tackling the challenging area of bird painting better, with support and hands on learning. We will explore painting a range of natural subjects with a strong focus on improving your over all watercolour technique and skill, which can be applied any application you should choose.
Each focus area we explore will allow you to build and improve essential watercolour techniques required for botanical illustration, such as working with washes, the more complex process of glazing (or layers of wash) and the intricate art of dry brushing; the foundations to managing this medium well. Through this we will build a sound understanding and love of watercolour, and of this genre. We will establish valuable strategies for achieving successful outcomes and find a new level of confidence in your work together, ultimately establishing the footholds for independent painting.
Artists with any level of experience are welcome in this workshop, so come along and enjoy learning more about this wonderful art form and medium !
